Gloss Glazes:
Often more durable and less prone to dulling over time, these pieces are both dishwasher and food safe on all my functional pieces. On aesthetic pieces I’d always recommend dusting them with a damp cloth or running them under a warm tap to remove any dirt and dust build up.
Thermal Shock:
Like all stoneware, these pieces do not enjoy extreme or sudden changes in temperature. To avoid 'thermal shock,' do not move a piece directly from a cold refrigerator into a hot oven or pour boiling water into a very cold vessel. Always allow the piece to warm up or cool down gradually.

CARE & LONGEVITY
My ceramics are designed to be used and lived with. Because each piece is fired to stoneware temperatures, the clay body undergoes vitrification — a process where it becomes entirely non-porous and as durable as stone. While these pieces are made to last a lifetime, the handmade nature of the glazes requires a thoughtful approach to care.
Matt Stoneware & Ash Glazes:
The majority of my functional work is dishwasher safe so they can be sensitive to abrasive chemicals. To preserve the unique depth and & "bloom" of the natural ash & matt glazes over many years, gentle hand-washing with a soft sponge is recommended.
Metallic Finishes:
These glazes are used on my non-functional pieces only as they are not food safe. These too can be sensitive to abrasive chemicals. Please avoid harsh scouring pads. Hand-washing is essential for any piece featuring a metallic luster to prevent the surface from dulling over time.
